Working with stoves is not something everyone can do. Performing regular maintenance of your system often prevents many of these problems, but even the best furnaces can sometimes break down. Here are five of the most common problems that can occur with your oven and what to do with them:

1. Lack of maintenance. This is the number one problem experienced by homeowners with their furnaces, and yet, this is the most preventable! It’s easy to forget about your stove while it’s warm outside, but you just spent these warm days on regular maintenance of your stove, and that would not have led you to the coldest days of the year. Besides simply breaking down and not working at all, an oven that did not observe regular maintenance can work less efficiently and in fact significantly increase your heating costs.

2. Problems with the pilot signal or ignition. Often, when the furnace blows cold air or only periodically blows out warm air, a problem with the pilot or ignition. It is relatively easy for homeowners to check the pilot light on some models, but it is never recommended to restart the pilot light without a specialist. It’s much more than lighting a candle! Call the specialist to look into it and find out what the pilot light first chose.

3. Problems with the filter. Problems with the filter are often caused by a lack of maintenance, and therefore they are one of the most preventable problems homeowners face in their furnaces. Filters can become clogged with dirt and dust in the air. Just clean them up or change them once a month so that the system works at maximum capacity. If you do not, you may notice that you or your family often get sick and stay sick for longer periods of time.

4. Problems with air flow throughout the house. If you have problems with the air flow and you know that this can not be a problem when ventilating in the house, then there is a good chance that there is something mechanically wrong inside. Broken or worn belts, inconvenient fan motors or worn bearings can lead to overheating of the furnace or to some other problems. Always call a professional to help with these problems, because they are usually associated with unit separation.

5. Problems with the thermostat. When the thermostat is faulty, everyone in the house is aware of this, because there is too much or too little heat in the house. It is always better to have a problematic thermostat with professional control, because you may need to completely replace it if it can not be fixed. If you are still not converted into a digital thermostat, then this is the time to do it. A digital thermostat can save you a lot of money on heating and cooling costs every month because you no longer need to worry about forgetting to turn off the fire when you go to bed at night.

Troubleshooting in ovens can be a daunting task, so if something just seems inactive and you can not impose your figure on it, do not waste one more time calling a professional to check it out. Furnaces are very complex parts of the house, so you can not afford to have any part of them work incorrectly. You may find it helpful to schedule regular checks of your system twice a year to avoid big problems when you need to bake the most.
