Problems with the water pressure can be present in different homes and also in different ways, for that reason, it is always recommended to stay informed about the multiple causes of this phenomenon that could affect our daily routines in a great way if we are not capable of fixing this problem, however, is the problem due to the poor plumbing on the property? Or maybe is something less particular like a faulty device that is causing this mess? Let’s discover it in today’s article, stay tuned.

What Causes Low Water Pressure?

Having Old Steel Water Pipes is a Problem after Years of Use.

Probably the most expensive and critical cause of low water pressure is the one that is related to the corrosion of the steel in the water pipes, this mainly happens because the steel pipes were used after decades and even if the corrosion is not visible in the outside, everything is happening in the inside, where the advancement of the damage reaches a point where the water just can’t continue to pass through the pipes and that effect will be noticed with a shortage of water pressure in a constant level, in the worst scenario you will need to change the steel water pipes system that is severely damaged by the corrosion, otherwise, the low water pressure will be persistent than ever.

Faulty Pressure Regulator.

It may be true that not every home counts with a pressure regulator, however, if the property does counts with one, then the low pressure could be due to a faulty regulator that is mixing the levels and commands of the regulation process. These devices are capable of regulating the pressure to a point where the input can’t damage the pipes or anything where the water passes through, and if they get faulty, then everything will be a mess. The way to determine if your regulator is damaged is by doing a regulator test or changing the whole device if you can afford this solution.

Main House Water Valve Closed.

If the valve that is responsible for allowing water to pass is not fully opened or if it’s closed for whatever reason, then obviously the changes in the water pressure will be noticed right away.  In fact, there is the possibility that you won’t even have water if this is the cause of the problem. The solution may be to open completely and like it is supposed the water valve, and after some time everything should be as good as ever.  In that case, always make sure to remain calm and don’t get crazy by looking for expensive solutions when they might be simple.
