There’s a lot of factors to consider when thinking about whether or not you should have a new toilet. You sure do put a lot of effort in maintaining the cleanliness and making sure that everything is working in your toilet but how do you know that it’s time for you to replace your old toilet with a new one? Let’s get into it one by one!

1. Clogging Problems

No one loves it when their toilet is clogging. If your toilet has ever been clogged before in the past, this is a good indication that your toilet may cause a clogging problem in the future. Besides that, if you have an old toilet, there is a high tendency that you will face a stoppage very frequently. You should consider getting a new toilet if you face clogs more than once per week or if the clogs are occurring randomly due to odd reasons.

Just in case you don’t want to give up the water-saving benefits of your old toilet, simply replace it with a toilet that has higher efficiency and more effective in flushing.

2. Cracks

You may want to check for some cracks in the porcelain soon after you have begun to notice puddles of water around your toilet floor. Over time, leaks can cause you to waste a lot of water every second and the water puddles may cause some damage to your toilet floor even though the toilet is working fine. The presence of water on your toilet floor may also cause the growth of mold in the future.

Besides that, you should also search for cracks in the bowl of the toilet. If you failed to spot any cracks, try to put some drops of dye in the water in the bowl of the toilet and see if the dye made it to the floor.

3. Repetitive Repairs

Toilets should not be repaired too frequent. If you find yourself always in need of toilet repairs, consider saving that money for replacing a new toilet altogether. It’s better to save some money and buy a new toilet altogether when you have sufficient money instead of keep on repairing your toilet repetitively for a long time.

It’s much cheaper to get a new toilet than to keep repairing it for a constant period of time.

4. The Toilet is Old

Even though your old toilet may work perfectly for you, the old toilet is usually more inefficient compared to the toilet that has a new model, hence it’s highly recommended for you to replace your old toilet so that you may be able to save some money as well as water. You may want to buy a toilet that has a dual flush mode so that you have the choice to flush only half of the water for the solid waste and the other half for the liquid waste.

In that way, you may be able to save both money and water.
